June is African American Music Appreciation Month. We highlight the legacy of Chicago recording label CHESS Records. We talk with Ms. Jacqueline Dixon, the daughter of Mr. Willie Dixon who is perhaps best known as one of the most prolific songwriters of his time and also for his role as producer, talent scout, session musician and staff songwriter for Chess. Many say he WAS Chess records.
Along with that, we also celebrate the legacy of one of Chess’s biggest blues stars Mr. Howlin' Wolf. We interview his daughter, Ms. Barbara Marks and she shares some background about the artist.
